Find a Naturopath — REVIBE Directory

Naturopathy is not a regulated profession in Quebec. There is no professional order, no licence, and no legal requirement to hold any credential before calling yourself a naturopath.

That is worth knowing before you book with anyone. It means the responsibility for checking training, approach and fit falls on you.

REVIBE's directory is small and deliberately so. Every practitioner listed has been reviewed by our ethics committee before appearing here.

What a naturopath actually does

What a first naturopathy consultation covers: sleep, digestion, stress, nutrition and energy looked at together
A naturopath looks at these together rather than treating one symptom in isolation.

A naturopath looks at nutrition, sleep, stress, digestion and lifestyle together, rather than treating one symptom in isolation. The work is usually about identifying patterns — why the fatigue keeps returning, why the digestion is unpredictable, why sleep breaks at the same hour.

A first consultation typically runs 60 to 90 minutes and covers your history in some detail. What follows is usually a set of adjustments to food, routine and supplementation, reviewed over several sessions.

What it is not: naturopathy does not replace medical care. A good naturopath will tell you when something needs a physician, and will work alongside your doctor rather than instead of them. If someone tells you to stop a prescribed medication, that is a reason to leave.

How to choose one

Since the title is unprotected, these questions matter more than credentials on a page:

  1. Where did they train, and for how long? Programmes range from a few weekends to several years.
  2. Are they a member of an association? ANAQ, ANPQ and ANQ are the main ones in Quebec. Membership means they meet that association's standards — it is not government regulation, but it is something.
  3. Will my insurance cover this? Some plans reimburse naturopathy when the practitioner belongs to a recognised association. Check before booking, not after.
  4. What happens if this is not the right fit? A practitioner who has thought about referring people elsewhere is usually a better one.
  5. Do they sell supplements? Not disqualifying — but ask whether recommendations depend on what they stock.

Why this directory is short

If you want the longest possible list of naturopaths in Quebec, Index Santé and the ANAQ member directory will serve you better — they hold thousands of listings.

REVIBE lists three. Each one works primarily with women, each has been reviewed by our ethics committee, and two of the three offer a free first call so you can test the fit before paying anything.

Short and checked, rather than long and unfiltered. That is the trade-off, and it will not suit everyone.

Frequently asked questions

Is naturopathy covered by insurance in Quebec?
Sometimes. It depends on your plan and on whether the practitioner belongs to a recognised association. Ask your insurer for the specific requirement, then check the practitioner meets it.

What is the difference between a naturopath and a nutritionist?
Nutritionist and dietitian are protected titles in Quebec, regulated by the Ordre professionnel des diététistes. Naturopath is not. A naturopath also works more broadly — sleep, stress, lifestyle — rather than nutrition alone.

How many sessions will I need?
Most people see a naturopath over several months rather than once. Anyone promising results in a single session is overselling.

Can I see a naturopath online?
Yes. All three practitioners here offer remote consultations, which matters if you are outside the main Quebec centres.
